Drum Roll, please – there’s a reason to celebrate!
In honor of the release of the first monograph Variation(s) by the artist L’outsider, we would like to share our long-standing relationship with the artist and showcase his latest available works. Enjoy diving into his creative world.
Our collaboration with Yann L’outsider began approximately ten years ago. Julien Kolly first encountered the artist at the end of 2012 during an exhibition at the Colab Gallery. Shortly thereafter, the artist and the gallery began to meet and exchange ideas. Julien Kolly finds L’outsider’s art to be “outstanding and disruptive,” which is why he decided to exhibit the artist in Switzerland for the first time in 2013. And so the ball began rolling.
We are especially proud this year to witness L’outsider publishing his first monograph. It is equally fulfilling to see that the spark that ignited from Julien Kolly has also spread to the Kolly Gallery team, allowing Tania Di Brita to contribute a text to the monograph.
Variation(s) is the first monograph by the artist Yann Le Berre, known as Yann L’Outsider, which retraces the last ten years of his black and white period. The 272 pages of this high-quality art book, designed as a work of art in its own right, detail the personal, professional, and artistic journey of an artist who defies convention, and whose work has emerged from a dual path. With a background in cabinetmaking and the restoration of fine furniture at the prestigious Ecole Boulle in Paris, where he acquired patience, precision, and meticulousness. Yet, he also ventured into the world of graffiti, marked by freedom, urgency, and adrenaline.
