Indigo Blood – is more that an exhibition. It enchants the space to a multicultural harmony. Kolly Gallery is excited to present Koralie’s exhibition Indigo Blood for the first time in Zurich. The pop up exhibition lasts from November 29 to December 1, 2018.

Koralie is a sensitive artist, who incorporates her personal research, the craftsmanship of indigenous cultures and an homage to the complex beauty of nature into her versatile work. The title of the exhibition Indigo Blood honors the ancient pigment indigo blue produced by the leaves of its natural plant, obtained by the know-how of craftsmen from various edges of the globe. The mystical color indigo with its deep blue tone, reflects the blue sky and ocean. Historically the colors and their associations have always been fascinating to artists like Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Johannes Itten and Paul Klee. So is Koralie, who associates indigo with calm, wisdom and freedom. The title Indigo Blood is metaphorically used to describe eternal life-force, like the blood flowing through our veins, nourishing the body and oxygenating the mind as well as the sap that flows through the plant, from its roots to the tips of its leaves.

The itinerant exhibition includes various working materials within the art pieces. There are paintings, textile installations, totems and her distinct characters statuettes Kochikas.

Further the exhibition is accompanied by a short movie Koralie herself has written and co-directed. Her whole outcomes for her project Indigo Blood will finally evolve into a book. So the project itself is much more than only an art exhibition.

Indigo Blood softly encourages the viewer to undertake his own journey, to immerse the world of the artist’s perception and reflect on the themes presented.
