On the one hand, the artist incorporates her well-know style of ‘kaleidoscopic nature‘, in which she masters perfectly symmetrical shapes that she repeats identically. On the other hand, she allows her recent and intuitive approach of ‘acclimatation‘, using less controlled and more painterly character, merge into her work. Different fragments from preexisting canvases are cut out and again sewed together to a symmetric art work. She superimposes and supplements the phyllotaxic elements with hand-painted brushstrokes according to her mood. It also demonstrates Koralie’s passion and engagement for craftsmanship.
The Way of Boro III series reunites all of Koralie’s artistic and personal interest: motifs, folklore, indigo, juxtaposition, fragmentation and repetition. The artist progressively balances the mismatches and ultimately brings life to the paintings through various textures.
