Way of Boro III outlines fragmentation, juxtaposition and patchwork in Koralie’s new art pieces. The new series is presented from 28th September to 3rd October 2020.
It is important to emphasize that the stitching is made visible in this new series. The visible stitching is a direct reference to the French Supports/Surfaces movement.
This French avant-garde artistic movement, began in the late 1960ies and is characterised by an approach that gives equal importance to materials, creative gestures as well as the final work. This movement was a great source in Koralie’s creative practice because of its geographical and temporal proximity. The movement originates from Montpellier/Nimes and the founders were very active in the 1990ies. Through the direct contact with the protagonists of this movement as well as the profund research of exhibitions, lectures, art classes or visits to their studios, Koralie deepened her knowledge and appreciate the local artistic movement and its creations.
