MadC’s new series entitled Paint and Paper demonstrates that precision and simplicity can be as effective as the world’s biggest mural. Kolly Gallery presents the new series from 9 to 14 November 2020 in Zurich.
MadC has explored various media and backgrounds in her artistic path. From huge walls, large and small canvases to subtle works on paper. Indeed, sometimes works on paper require more expertise than canvases, in which each brushstroke has to be right at the first time. Unlike a sketch, paper art work has a similar impact as a work on canvas. MadC’s elaborate art pieces on paper appear effortless, precise and light. They seem like classic watercolour paintings, where one layer of paint is applied after another without losing the effect of the complete art work. The handcrafted works on paper are require very delicate hand movements, perfect knowledge of color ration and material reactions. In addition, the first lines are a crucial prerequisite to the creation of a graffiti piece and thus an important heritage of the graffiti culture.
