Just last year (2022) he painted the world’s tallest mural in Calgary, Canada. With the height approx. 100 meters this opens new dimensions for the artist – congratulations!
DAIM is known for de- and reconstructing his artist pseudonym in countless variations as well as amplifying the complexity of writing. The artist fragmentizes, drips, and tapes his name tag, which finally results in a nearly hyperrealistic dynamic artwork.
Artworks presented in this online exhibition are elegant, clean and colorful. All of them are strictly spray-painted. The various artworks arise from different contexts:
The artwork Coming Out Monomania is connected to a wall project the artist did for the exhibition Wände / Walls at the Artmuseum Stuttgart in 2021. Similarly, the work with the title Coming Out of Hopfenburg takes its inspiration from a mural created for an exhibition in Hamburg in 2021.

Due to his passion of letters the artist likes to play with his pseudonym DAIM in different pronunciations that he heard during the years. For example, in the piece DEIM there is the letter E instead of the A, which is referring to the german pronunciation of his pseudonym.
For the artwork Space X he worked for the first time with metallic spray paint. The clear and abstract style elements are complemented by wild splashes, sections, surfaces and 3D shapes. On Swinging Cuts he deconstructed usual letters into abstract shapes, where incisions and 3D shapes are part of the composition.
Recently DAIM has started working with tape. He is strategically using the benefits of the tape for backgrounds as well as foreground elements. His typical graffiti style elements continue to be freehand shapes created with a spray can. The slightly blurred aesthetics, are an exciting contrasts to the perfectly masked surfaces. On the smooth aluminum boards, these works result in an unusual combination. The studio meets the streets!
