Sprayers is the first ever created series in Solomostry’s career. He started this series or rather tradition back around 2016, when he moved to Barcelona. The artist found fluorescent paper on the street, which someone must have abandoned and that’s when he started to create those paste up posters. The posters of this series have been with Solomostry throughout Spain, Dominican Republic, Germany and now Zurich, Switzerland. Through their handiness and flexibility the artist can bring them on the road. Every time Solomostry visits a new city, he takes them with him and pastes some of them on the walls, while others return home witnessing the journey he made. Typical for the posters is their very light and foldable material, the short pasting time as well as their easy way to hang. In addition the surface is damaged less.

This series Sprayers truly represents Solomostry’s strongest motifs, therefore he decided to make some of them immortal by exposing them at Kolly Gallery. Solomostry’s iconic motifs are based on lines. Mostly they are composed of a straight and clean line, but always accompanied by scruffy drips and wild splashes. But the lines themselves always remain monochrome. The scruffy lines are the artist’s unique signature, due to his favorite creative tool: a gardening sprayer. It is a sort of homemade spraying tool that allows a rare kind of stroke, that is different from any other spray aesthetic in graffiti art. This is how „the line is dirty but at the same time intense“, the artist comments.
In Solomostry’s artistic practice the streets represent the place where he discovered a unique form of art as well as a kind of playground where he dares to try new techniques, tools and ideas without any rules. This time he brought a piece of the streets into the gallery – literally!
