Multi-layered, playful and dynamic are Sweetuno’s new canvases of the series entitled 5 Good Old Friends Of Mine. Traditional graffiti codes, style writing and letters rooting in the mid-1990s dissolve in abstract compositions of urban elegance. Sweetuno’s research into different ways to express typography as well as redeploying his old-school graffiti roots, mainly through movement and body language, is the driving force of his creative practice.

Curved lines, dynamic swings and a tag here and there are the basis of Sweetuno’s body of work. Both sketch and final layer appear in his artworks simultaneously.

As the title suggests, the series 5 Good Old Friends Of Minerepresents the ups and downs of a lifetime, especially in friendship. Relationships have to be cultivated and sometimes even fought back. The specific attributes mentioned in the various titles of the artworks have been accompanying the artists since his early days in the graffiti world.
