The German artist Mina Mania was born 1986 in Munich. She lived in Hamburg, Paris, Munich and Berlin and after some years of traveling between Paris and Berlin, she is now located in Berlin, where she has her studio.
A first graffiti encounter in the year 2000 has unlocked an interest in and attraction to the myth and anonymity of the craft. At the age of fourteen Mina Mania started writing graffiti. She has a particular passion for drawing, painting and spraying. The artist is best known for her bubble style letters, her Mina throw-up and her creative characters. Her inspirations are daily encounters and observations of her environment and she enjoys the exchange with other artists. Especially her iconic feminine character „Nana“, an open-minded woman, who immerses herself in different roles, convinces with an aura of self-confidence, style, courage and female power. Sometimes hidden, sometimes evident, the colorful pieces by Mina Mania always include the four letters of her name.
The unique aesthetic and her technical skills have brought Mina Mania international recognition. Her art has been exhibited in the United States and Europe, especially in France and all around Germany. Mina Mania travels to different cities, where she realizes large-scale projects and occasionally works together with other artists. Mina is often invited to festivals to paint live on location. Furthermore, in 2018 she has designed her own spray can for MONTANA CANS as a limited artist edition. Her artistic vocation does not stop with graffiti: she enjoys to constantly challenge herself with new materials that fascinate her. In 2020 the artist up-cycled shopping bags and created fashion for her independent art project “Welcome to Yolo Land”. Her art and Mina herself appear in the music videos by rappers as Samy Deluxe, Dicht & Ergreifend and R.A. the Rugged Man.
